e-Aadhaar

Important e-Aadhaar details

Download formats

  • Regular Aadhaar – shows the complete 12-digit Aadhaar number.
  • Masked Aadhaar – hides the first eight digits for better privacy and shows only the last four.

PDF password

Your e-Aadhaar is downloaded as a PDF file and is password protected. The password is:

First four letters of your name in CAPITAL + your birth year (YYYY)

Example: For Priya born in 1990 → PRIA1990

Important: Under the Aadhaar Act 2016, the e-Aadhaar is legally valid and accepted across India for identity, address verification, subsidies, and other government-related services.

  • Biometric Verification
  • The centre will verify your identity using fingerprints or iris scan instead of OTP.
  • Request Aadhaar Print

  • Normal Aadhaar print letter (₹30)
  • PVC Aadhaar card (₹50)

Troubleshooting e‑Aadhaar Download

  • OTP not received: Ensure you entered the correct mobile number. If SMS fails, try again later — heavy load may delay OTP.
  • PDF won’t open: Use a standard PDF reader (e.g. Adobe Acrobat) that supports digital signatures. Password = first 4 letters of name (uppercase) + birth year (YYYY).
  • Aadhaar data mismatched (name, DOB): Use UIDAI update portal or visit enrolled center. Then download the updated e‑Aadhaar.
  • Lost registered mobile number: Use alternate method (ASK/PEC) or order PVC Aadhaar.
